Thanks Lynn but the description is not exactly right. 1 to 2 ft tall vs. 6' ft actual. Found out it was bought through Oregon Aquatics, Inc so I went there and looked up the the reference under Shallow water plants (marginal plants).
"Aster elliottii (purple marsh aster) Z5 Up to 6’. Small purple flowers in late summer to fall." 2010 Accepted name Symphyotrichum elliottii
It is native to the Florida Panhandle and appears to be aggressive. hmmm... I may want to put it back in a pot next year.
