I have never grown Hosta before.I have some H. 'dream queen' and my question is when i plant it in the fall how do i pick a good place?Right now the days short & sun's not blazing but when picking out a spot i have to remember we have blazing hot summers and haven't had enough rain in years. So when picking out a place should i go with sunny place now but that will be partly shaded in summer? How much sun can they take in the summer and what's their preference as to soil drainage, quick draining, dry quickly or do they need to have a water source a little longer? We are still having temp's in the high 70's during the day!! We usually don't get cold until Jan.-Feb.if planted now they should be well established in time just in case we do get any cold weather. Shrug!
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!
