Sweet! I have the wire shelving in my GH, it works great! I think when my Rion needs replacement -- might not be that far away -- DH and I will consider building something like your dad made. What "form" was the glass in when he got it? What I'm wondering is, did he have to cut it to size from various sizes of windows, or ?? Do you know what kind of glass is on the roof? We have at least one pretty good hailstorm nearly every year, so not sure I'd want glass there, but window glass would be fine for the sidewalls. At any rate, that's a really nice structure, I'd say your dad knows what he's doing!!
