Name: Noel Calvert Tumaco, Colombia-South America (Zone 13b) A gringo?Where?(does a doubletake)
Here are the rest of the plants I collected on the trip. I am hoping for an ID that does not lead to Mexico! HEHE Anthurium faustomirandae is listed on www.exoticrainforest.com as only being found in Mexico. Has it been naturalized to Colombia,LariAnn?
This reminds me of a Monstera Deliciosa, but is a compact grower that hugs the ground in a creeping bird-nest growth pattern. Also the Petioles & Stems are rough like sandpaper. This plant has stems about 3" thick.Monstera Deliciosa grows vines & climbs right?
I think this may be an immature version of the plant below, but I am not sure. It had 2 Inflorescence when I collected it, but one dropped pollen the night I collected it (saved for hybridizing attempts) & the other was shed due to a maggot infestation, but it had tiny beetles also. Is this variegated, or does the leaf have some sort of damage? I am seeing the same affect on several plants.
This is a beautiful plant that I noticed in a tiny cave on the side of the road while traveling at 100KPH. The red really sticks out! HEHE! Anyone know what it is?
