Joanne,
Your wrote a great piece on how to grow petunias, i made a hard copy but it has gone AWAL. Can you link me up?
Xeramthem, The rhodochiton do take a long time to come up. I have just followed the directions on the seed pk. I use plastic domes on all germinating seeds.
These are the directions on the PKG.
Place seed on the surface of good free draining soil-based potting mix ( I use redi-earth) and cover with a very light sprinkling of vermiculite( I don't do this part, just put seed on the surface of the moist soil).Place in a propagator or sealed container in side a polythene bad and keep at 68-77F until after germination which takes 12-40 days. If they need to be watered I use a spray bottle and I use a bit of chamomile tea in the water. I get about 80% germination. This is all done in the greenhouse and use a heat mat with a thermostat.
I know you grow a ton of things, seen you post on DG so, this is just basic stuff to you. Thats my way and it works.
Karen,
I going to winter sow his year after reading all your info last year. I can hardly wait. This will free up so much room in my greenhouse.
