Marilyn: The video with the rabbit is in the first post from Karen. That nest is in Iowa. The video I posted is a nest in Florida and the Florida birds seem to be eating only fish which is their main diet down here ... so much water, always lots of fish! The nest in Florida is right near a river and the Gulf of Mexico. I saved the video to my desktop and click on it many times during the day and at night to watch what's going on at the nest. It's going to be a lot of fun seeing those babies grow up. I noticed yesterday morning that one of the chicks kept pecking at the other whenever it raised it's head. I'm assuming the one doing the pecking is the older of the two. I think they are three days apart and one does seem to be stronger than the other (in my opinion) so I hope it doesn't bully it's little brother/sister. I also read on a blog that they use an infrared light or something at night which does not have lights that the birds can detect.
The Hancock Wildlife Foundation has a blog going about this particular nest in SW Florida. Scroll down this page and it gives some information about these two adults that have been nesting at this same site for 6 years:
