If they were grown side by side, they sure look different: not just the height but the size of the leaves. I don't think the flowers on the shorter scape are going to end up being anywhere near as large. I wonder if they came from the same grower. 2 growers could be supplying the same wholesaler. Also is one bulb several years older than the other one. Another possibility is a substitution. The wholesaler could have substituted a similar cultivar to make up the order. If that was not actually Apple Blossom, you wouldn't be the wiser, if you didn't have a true Apple Blossom next to it for a comparison. I hope you post another photo, when the shorter one is in full bloom. I have a suggestion: when you have a later photo, go to the facebook page of Royal Colors. You can upload the photo to their page, and ask them about the size difference. The company is quite responsive to postings on their page.
