Thinking back to just the past year in particular, the same variety of plant, in different containers in different areas of the garden, with different soil types, all had the same incidence of BER. So I'm going to make a big guess that weather was a big factor. At least for that year. Think I'll try to find a place in the ground for a couple this year, see if that makes a difference.
