Our Mid-Winter "Spring Break" has wreaked havoc for me! We usually do have a slight warmup in January but this was extraordinary to say the least .. from my point of view I loved every second of it .. from the garden's point of view it was a disaster .. everything in the greenhouse got a 5 degree soil temp increase which started plants growing. I have about 15 rooted cuttings of passiflora which are now actively growing and shooting out tendrils trying to grab on to everything .. it's a nightmare. In my Woodlands Garden the Mouse Plant, Arisarum proboscideum has popped up and the ground orchids, Bletilla are popping up all over .. I probably should be outside covering things with buckets.

Even the tree's around town are starting to get fuzzy looking indicating leaf buds are swelling and azalea buds are swelling as well. Probably going to be a really sad Spring.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
