Hi Carolyn, My hybrid cannas and canna indica do well in my zone all year around. They die back in the winter but come back and multiply every year. I cannot find any information on this dwarf variety, canna patens, nor it's cultivar. Just thought someone might know before I sink it into the bog. I have enough to experiment. I might put most into a pot and just put one or two rhizomes in to the water and see what happens. I like that it will be shorter-about 18" to stand in front of it's taller cousins.
