I just got a L. purpurata var. carnea in the mail. It had just finished blooming 5 flowers. It was bare root but had quite a bit of sphagnum in the roots that I teased out. I decided to put it in a large square plastic basket with some coconut husk to hold it in place since I water daily anyway. I'm hoping that new roots grow through the holes of the basket and that I can attach wires to the basket and hang it in winter. How do others grow this plant?
