Yes, DH is in construction, so scrap wood is ubiquitous. The wood could be painted any color. I can picture doing it by making little wood boxes/frames also, sized to catch the lip of the terra cotta pots. That would offer a wide surface for decorating, but be much more heavy...

One could use chain instead of those black straps (looks like nylon, which is an awesome idea to begin with,) or macramรฉ/braided twine ropes. Very strong fishing line would result in a cool optical illusion.

One could combine ideas and, with bottoms on the boxes instead of being open, it could be a tiered mini gardens...

The straps could be decorated with little "climbing" critters.

One could make something to hold pretty vases of water also, to display cut flowers and start cuttings.

Hang from the porch, from a tree, shepherd hook, inside as shown. I wasn't kiddin' when I said it gave me ideas. I suspect other people have other ideas too... please share if you do!
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)

Try to be more valuable than a bad example.
