I have been told, I can just rough them up, use house paint and plant them (putting holes in bottom of course)

Others have embellished theirs with pebbles and other textural add ons.

The ones Tabby had were very rustic looking and very much like stone.

She has had them in the locations in her garden for years..

I have never thought about using them as forms for hypertufa but you may have had experience with that.
