Has far as I know all elderberries produce fruit. The Black Lace Elderberry according to what I read produces berries, but one of the DG members has it and says no berries. It takes 2 -4 years for a bush to produce berries. They like full sun to late afternoon sun. At least thats how they were growing in Bakersfield, Calif. Temps over 100 most of the summer They do like water, so when I get mine planted I plan to run a drip line to them.
