I love that Black-crested Titmouse too .. that's one I've never seen but I suppose the reason is ... they are only found in Texas and Mexico! We have the Tufted Titmouse here in Florida. I've been having problems with squirrel's getting the top off the suet feeders and taking the entire suet cakes so I got this new one labeled as a seed feeder but bought it for the purpose of stuffing the suet cakes down inside ... voila! The squirrel's can't get the lid off ... now if I could just find a way to keep the Grackles and Blackbirds away!!
Here's a picture I took this afternoon of a squirrel with what's left of the suet he stole from the feeder. At one point a few of his relatives were gathered around and they were all enjoying it. I scared the rest of them off but this little one just sat there finishing his dinner!
And ... a Tufted Titmouse at the new feeder:
