I had that happen to me, with a mislabeled semp about 3 years ago. I think I got if from Fred Myers. But I did get a most wonder pot of S. 'Pacific Devil's Food' from Home Depot a few years ago. And it was indoors with the tenders.
I couldn't get it home fast enough to double check it's identity. And here is what it grew into.
