I guess if it repeats at all it cannot be a gallica. There appears to be a dullness to the foliage and paleness of color that seems different from the sheen and touch of purple found on most modern roses. That's what makes me think it is closely related to gallicas. The shape of the flower seems similar to Tradescant in your photo. Wondering if there's any chance it is a David Austin rose. For example, Lady of Megginch produces flowers about that shade of magenta.

But I suppose it could be any of hundreds of hybrid perpetuals. Or maybe it is just Angel Face - or a sport of that rose.

In my garden here, climbing Angel Face lasted one season and died, having produced but a single rose. I detected no fragrance, but then it was a foot off the ground and I didn't kneel. Right now the scentless, soulless Chevy Chase occupies that ground.
