I think part of the problem is that the same plant, grown in different conditions or zones may vary a lot in how it grows and how large it gets. I have 'Cutting Edge'. Registry info puts it at 27" wide and 22" high making it only a medium sized hosta. Last year I won a "best in show" for foliage for LARGE leaves. And it looks as though it's been on steroids. I'm not sure what other info is out there about that one, but the Registry sure isn't correct.

To be fair, there sometimes are updates to Registry information.
