Hello all, we just bought our first house, and have no flowers anywhere. We went to walmart and bought a few bags of "root" hostas. I planted them down the walkway of our front steps, and its been almost one month and we haven't seen any sign of life other then some grass and weeds, and a few helicopters that took root and started to bloom we pulled out. We just today added mulch over the area. Also, I must confess that we did not soak the roots, or anything before we planted them, because we had no clue that needed to be done. I am not joking when I tell you we have no idea what we are doing. lol I would of loved to found someone online that had some starts of actual plants they could share, and I even posted a want add on a few sites looking for some, but no one replied
How can I tell if these suckers are going to pop up at some point??
I just found this site, and was reading through it and am trying to learn a little about things as I am wanting to plant a lot of plants since I have a huge yard. Im not sure if this is where I am supposed to post this, and if im not supposed to be posting here for questions of this sort, I am sorry. Not sure what all info I need to add to this to help get some answers. I live in central Indiana and from what I have found on the internet I think I am in zone 5 if that helps with anything.
