I hate to even mention this, but I had XP and when it crashed, my computer guy told me he would not put XP in the new machine because after one of the months, if I remember it was April, XP support was going to be non existent. I had no alternative but to go with Windows 7 and that is pretty close to XP and most of your XP stuff works with it. He said I would not be happy with Windows 8. I have used Firefox for years and love it. IE gave me so much trouble I found it much easier to use Firefox. This is just my comments from experience for what it is worth. You need to do what you are comfortable with. I am 84 and I am very comfortable with Windows 7 now and Firefox and I was an XP person for many years. AND, i do not do change very well. nodding
