Thanks Calin. Tulipa tarda self sows prolifically in my garden and I did know the seedlings would go dormant but tarda doesn't go dormant for me till almost July. I planted the seeds in pots because my first attempt with the sprengeri was direct in the garden and nothing sprouted. I have 3 pots of the sprengeri and still nothing in the garden. I'm not sure if something was eating the seeds out there. Regardless what is my best bet to get them through this dormancy? I'm thinking I should probably put the pots ( without the pot) in the ground not disturbing the root ball and let them fend for themselves.
I think if I try to keep them in the pot for another year they will either dry up too much and die or I'll overwater too much and they die. What's your thoughts on that?
