I got the seeds from a vender here in Mexico, sold through an online store like ebay. Here's a link to the place I bought them with pictures and text (in spanish).

It says they are nelumbo nucifera with a common name of sacred lotus or asian lotus. I got 10 seeds, 5 white and 5 pink. I just don't know which ones survived and are now growing.
