I'm not sure. I have had good luck with most things I've tried. You would have to experiment with different types of cuttings: green or hard wood and the amount of wounding to the stem. I find that cutting a slit into the end of the stem helps a lot of plants. I think it exposes more of the cutting to the rooting gel.
I took 3 small cuttings from my David Austin Rose 'Tradescant' to try. I'm not good with Roses and they seem to always get diseases and die here, but I do like that one when it grows.
