Stush, the conditions you described of wet air conditioning I cannot say was a good situation but I have seen them growing in a bog situation in Puerto Rico.
I always thought they liked it dry but the ones in PR in the bog area in very dark areas were as tall as me and looked so happy to be grown in that condition.
