I have 3 that are very similar to yours, 1 bloomed in its 3rd year, the other 2 in the 4th year. Mine have white blooms, definitely not as impressive as the Itohs and most of the herbaceous....But they grow so fast and early in the season that it's always my favorite promise that spring is actually going to happen! The only thing in my yard that bloomed earlier than those tree peonies is a Clare de Lune herbaceous, the trees are certainly more impressive if only for the foliage and size!
