My Pacific Giant Delphinium elatum (from seed) was advertised as a short-lived perennial in Zones 2 through 5 or so, but 4+ years in Zone 7 and up.

Mine got bigger and better for three years, then disappeared. But I didn't deadhead it completely, and always let some spikes go to seed.
