I had a similar experience earlier this year with some of my plumeria. We had a crazy week and a half of rainy and overcast weather. Here is one example:

If this hadn't been a plant that was mature and had bloomed for several years correctly I would have thought I had the wrong one: Here is 'Hurricane' the way she is supposed to look:
