I think it's fantastic! I would add it to my collection under a tree for sure. I think once you fill it, the bottom will be no more, so make sure you're sure, first, about where.
I might (ask DH to - his area of expertise) attach the lid cocked open, like the plants are 'boiling out' of it. Seems a shame not to use it for something. I'm drawing a blank on something else that could be done with the lid.
OK, that's not true, scrolled up again and if it was going to be under a tree, you could use fishing line to hang it a foot or two (or however high you want) above the pot, from a branch above. That would give the illusion the lid's being blown straight up from the explosion of plants, and just look kinda cute dangling/swaying there. I might hang it from both ends of the handle to keep it in mostly the right direction in relation to the pot below. Could block a lot of the rain that way though, don't know how you'd feel about that.
