As always, my hubby took a cutting from our dwarf schefflera early this Spring, and refused to remove the leaves. So it was stuck once more in water gel beads. Another cutting experiment, knowing we were successful last year.
So I kept it in shade and it almost was a no go..looked like it will be a failure. As expected all the remaining leaves dropped, but I notice the cutting itself is still firm, just no roots. I added some hydroton rocks to add some more air flow below since there is no drainage in this glass container and moved it near the sink for some bright light. So all summer long it was there.

But I was wondering, if there are roots, where is the new growth, there should at least be a leaf. I know it tried a bit, but somehow blasted.

Just happy the cutting experiment was not a failure after all
I intend to keep this plant totally indoors and soil-less..and will observe further how it will grow. I normally move to soil my schefflera cuttings once it starts rooting. But this time it will stay in this set-up. Will observe how it will grow, one less venue for fungus gnats
