West end has about seven feet in height. It's working well to keep most of the hot late-day sun out.
Stump? What stump?
I just added this log bed of mums, flowering brassicas and dahlias over and around it on Sunday.
There are two more huge stumps buried under the flooring.
East end has 14 feet in height -perfect to let in the morning sun. We left the upper center section open and screened it. It shoots a few rays of early morning sunlight into the interior of the house.
I didn't even foresee that benefit!
A wicker-type ceiling fan will be suspended from that high beam above the table.
Screening is UV pet screen, and it's wonderful! It really does block a lot of heat from the sun.
Floor covering and electrical still to do, but at least the rain gutters and most of the painting is done!
