I hadn't thought of mixing DE with the seeds.

If I have seeds I worry might be buggy, whether they're purchased/traded or collected, I just pop them in the freezer for a few days. Most seeds, as long as they're dry, aren't bothered by the cold, but it will kill the bugs nicely.
