I'm thinking of placing an order with Palatine, just because I always do, and also because they offer Lynette as a grafted rose. I have an own-root Lynette from Roses Unlimited, but it's never going to be as spectacular as it would be in the grafted form. I want to replace my favorite own-root roses with grafted roses whenever possible, especially now that grafted roses seem to be on the way out on this continent. I hope Palatine doesn't follow Pickering's example and switch to nothing but own-root plants, but it may do that someday.

Pickering's fall list is up, and it looks like Pickering is shipping to the U.S. this year. According to the updated webpage, they are grafting onto multiflora for most roses, laxa for others. The only own-roots they mention are some of the OGRs.

They list several roses that have spent years on my extended wish list. *Blush* My resolve is rapidly weakening. The last order I had with them came 6 weeks later than promised, so if I order now, I might get it this fall and not have to deal with unpredictable spring swings! They sent me decent roses; they just sent them (dormant) in the heat of summer so they all died.
Any other reason not to order from them?
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
