Hydrangeas Peonies Celebrating Gardening: 2015 Plant Identifier Garden Ideas: Master Level
In 2008 I became very interested in the new hybrid Echinaceas. I ended up buying many: All that Jazz, Harvest Moon, Summer Sky, Sunrise, Tiki Torch, Doubledecker, Sundown, Twilight, After Midnight, Kims Knee High, Kims Mop Head, Pink Double Delight and Lilliput. There may have been some others, but you get the idea.

Prior to this fetish with the hybrids, I had started Common Echinacea, Magnus and Swan White from seed. These plants were all doing quite well (for many years) in my garden beds. So, as I purchased these new hybrid plants, I planted them along side of the old standards (in several different beds).

Bottom line is that most of these new hybrids died within a year or two. Some lasted slightly longer, but this year (2013) the only Echinacea I have are the old standards.

Hybrid Coneflowers may come in many colors and shapes, but they are apparently NOT for me:)
