Interesting query.
As a general rule daffodils should be planted 3 times depth of height of bulb.
I couldn't find Early Cheer in either of the two major databases that generally track all daffodil names (RHS's (The Royal Horticultural Society Horticultural Database) The International Daffodil Register & Classified List or ADS's (American Daffodil Society) DaffSeek site.
Nothing either for Autumn Color but there are entries for the group Autumn Colors which indicate they are a fall flowering daffodil.
Sugar Cups and Golden Dawn (which has 3 listed cultivars, 1 of which is a Tazetta, of this name) are Division 8 Tazetta daffodils, the former grows tall (>26"), the latter standard height (12 to 26"). 16" noted in our database.
If I may inquire. where did you acquire these daffs?
J
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.
