Sway: Great idea! I don't grow spiny, thorny plants for the reason that they are so dangerous to a klutz like me.
David: Great idea about decorating them too. I remember elderly neighbor's of my mom's in South Fla. years ago and one use colored styrofoam balls on the sharp tips of Yucca plants while another (although I'm not sure how they were secured) covered Yucca tips with parts of colored styrofoam egg cartons. Your comment got me to googling
