Yup, 2 & 3 are Aloes, and I'd agree that #2 is A. brevifolia. Very nice clumper, will get extra color in cooler weather.

I know that I've seen #3 a number of times - I always think that it's an A. plicatillis because of that cool flat leaf arrangement - but the plicatillis is smooth (http://www.smgrowers.com/produ...) . Grrrr.... now it will drive me nutso until I figure it out!
In the end, only kindness matters.
