To my eyes those leaves don't look like "Night Blooming Jasmine" (which isn't really a Jasmine; that's just the common name for Cestrum nocturnum: Night Blooming Jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum)

Do you remember what the blooms looked like on your plant? The foliage reminds me of Star Jasmine (Jasminum laurifolium var. laurifolium)

I'm not sure this is the time to prune but I don't know what the winter temp's are in your area of California.
