I want to thank you for your help. I went ahead and cut off the mother plant.. I trimmed of all the bad leaves I hope when it calluses over I can replant it if not I have these cute offshoots.
By the way the dirt was room temp and the water luke warm. I figured that would be better then cold dirt and cold water.
