Julia,

Unfortunately most of the seedlings are sort of bad copies of their mother although some parents produce mostly nice progeny regardless of dad. 'Killer' is definitely one that gives all pretty seedlings. This year I crossed it with 'Fuego' and am looking forward to those. 'Jungle Shadows' is another that gives lovely seedlings. The 'Killer' X 'Jungle Shadows' row was spectacular! There should be several named from that group.

I like the "germination chambers" Bev. Think that will help keep the moisture in and get them germinating too although mine are doing their thing in the pots already. The pots are clustered by my garage, which protects them and then I use Remay over the top that protects them down to 23F on colder nights. The daylily and iris seedlings look fine and they are certainly more tender than the Semps are.

Now that you've all growing seed the next step is to make your crosses. At the clinic this spring one of the exercises will be deciding on good crosses to make.

Kevin
