I must also confess to being an impulsive idiot--
I have yet to create any disastrous clematis combinations...that I am aware of at this point anyway because most of mine are new and haven't grown into each other yet.
But I have certainly moved a few other perennials around to spare myself the agony of viewing epic clashes again the next season.

One thing on the idiot factor that is occurring to me only now as I try to remember what I planted where last fall, is that I might actually have a group 2 with some group 3s and I doubt that I'll be able to tell the difference when the snow melts and I start cleaning up...
