Has anyone here ever heard of a "Pineapple Pear"? I once stayed at a home in Palacious, Texas that had 2 large pecan trees, 2 plumb trees and 3 pear trees. Two of the pears I think were Bartlett. I was told the third was a Pineapple Pear. The tree itself was 20' plus and the pears were almost the size of Texas Red Ruby Grapefruit and every bit as juicy. You had to hold a napkin under your chin or lean over the sink to eat one. They were more apple shaped than pear also.
Up to my elbows in the dirt while being on top of the dirt is a great day!
