@ilovejesus (hello, I hope your weather is not too bad!),

I posted my question as a follow up to the original poster hoping @Seedsower would tell us exactly what she was seeking - whether for ornamental or edible purposes - perhaps by including the botanical name(s) so we would not have to guess or give wrong information.

Having the botanical name helps. Given a choice of similar plants, I would hope responsible gardeners would choose the non-invasive plants.

etc.

As a side note, my neighbor thinks he is growing a 'pretty vine' and he regularly (and illegally) tosses his trimmings and cuttings into a nearby ditch Grumbling - out of sight, out of mind - thus setting us up for an invasive situation.
