Mike, most of the daylilies I have are hand me downs, so they are mostly yellows and oranges, don't even know the names of some of them. So I think because the "Whites" are so different I am more attracted to them, I just thought they would be a great contrast with the other colors and the dark green of the leaves. I ordered the rust resistant varieties because I hate to see rusty yellowing foliage, I spent most of the summer yanking leaves off the daylilies to keep them looking good. I can't help but believe that has to eventually weaken the plants. Of course with the older varieties rust was not even known to exist, to me 2000 is recent, think that is showing my age a bit.
