@Carolyn22 just seeing this thread, I cut 2 of my Haworthias thinking it would get them to "pup" and it just made a new crown, but I planted the top part which rooted and is shorter than it had been - so it did give me 2 plants!
I'd say go for it if you feel that one is too tall...they root super easy Thumbs up
