Ok here is my best guess it is Lyonia genus. There are two varieties that are supposed to grow in Texas, Lyonia mariana and Lyonia ligustrina. My guess is it is L. mariana.

The flowers of L. ligustrina are more round than yours, here is a picture of L. ligustrina.
