That's why it's better for them to be smaller; they dry faster. A larger tomato will take an eternity to dry all the way to the center.
Also make sure there's air flow. We put them on a screen that is elevated by bricks. This keeps air flowing all under and over them. And we do this on the day when it's a hundred degrees outside.
