I had Artemisia arborea for many years. The "fragrance" wasn't offensive to me, but it sure was to almost every human visitor I had! No need to bruise or crush these leaves.
I finally replaced it with something else. From people's comments, I am sure it was one of the things permanently imprinted in their minds (and nostrils) about my gardens.

I would expect all artemisia species to have some fragrance, but most not as smelly as mine. (Thank goodness!)
