For future reference .. When I know I want a new bed for next year, in the Fall I buy bags of cheap topsoil and lay down newspaper in the shape I want the bed then leaving the soil in the bags lay the bags down on the newspaper side by side til the whole area is covered. Come spring I just open up the bags, pull out the plastic and VoilĂ ! Instant bed. Works really well.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
