I fail to see how anyone made fun of anyone else's native language. Your comment would make more sense if Lavanda had been correct in using her native language. Hediondo, not hedionda, is the Spanish name for the plant. I don't doubt that planta is a feminine noun, but hediondo must be a descriptive adjective for some other plant-related noun of another gender, such as arbusto (Spanish for shrub).
