Here's the backup info that I supplied to support that this photo is misidentified (no point throwing this out there without context):

"This isn't Silene stellata. S. stellata has longitudinal veins on the calyx, which is bell -shaped. The shape of the calyx and the netting on it suggest S. vulgaris but I'm not sure. The photo doesn't show the characteristic leaf arrangement of S. stellata."

There are no buds in the photo, only spent flowers. Here's a good description of S. stellata:

Note the description of the veining on the calyx and the excellent photo to show it. Note also the shape of the calyx (campanulate - bell-shaped) in those photos and the following ones.

Note that the calyx shape doesn't match that of S. stellata and neither does the netted veining on the calyx. S. stellata has a very characteristic leaf arrangement; unfortunately, the photo only captures some stem leaves on this plant.

Here's the description and photos for S. vulgaris:

Note that the photos at the following site appear to have been taken in shade, given the lack of colouration on the calyx, but the description still notes "prominently veined, greenish-pink" calyx and the photos still show the faint "netted" vein pattern.

In any case, I'm not sure it's S. vulgaris... but I am sure it's not S. stellata!

By the way, thanks for confirming that the procedure for pointing out misidentified plants is to bring it up here or in Plant Photos. Thank You!
